Sebastian was a professional dancer as well as a Meisner trained actor which to me meant that we spoke the same language. As an actor who already has a decades worth of training, I believe it’s important to find someone to work with to keep my skills sharp and competitive without breaking the bank. The benefit of coaching with a screenwriter is that their script analysis insights are coming from the storyteller's perspective, which, I believe, is what we actors should strive to be in service of at all times. Seb has been the greatest acting teacher I have ever had. Within a year I had learned more about myself as an actor and about being truthful in my delivery than I could have ever hoped for. He is always there to support you and won't tear you down about your performance, which makes it very easy to trust him and let him guide you in the right direction with whatever you may be working on.
Don’t get me wrong, he definitely gives more than enough tough love and constructive criticism that you can walk away with a ton to work on, but you never end up feeling horrible about yourself or your craft. I’ve never felt afraid to fail and then get back up and try again, because he creates such a safe environment that you don’t need to worry about being judged or put down. I honestly couldn’t say enough great things about Seb!
